Yet another tribute to TFiOS

I'll eventually stop posting about TFiOS. Eventually.
But something amazing happened that forced me to create another post about it.
I'll explain. I was in art class and this popular girl who sits across from me who normally just doodles and talks with her friends was reading a book: The Fault in Our Stars.
She also never reads because she has dyslexia, and I asked her about the
book and she said that she loved it so far.
You do not understand how much joy it brings me to see people reading books that I love.
Anyway, before I show you guys a bunch of pretty pictures, here are my other TFiOS posts: http://bookahooligans.blogspot.com/2014/05/books-to-read-fault-in-our-stars-by.html

Books Talks: The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

Now, this book has been talked about to death, and it's been out for a while. I already did one review of the book, and you can check that out by using this nifty blog navigation device to your right. However, one post about this book did not suffice.
Something happened today that caused me to rethink that completely.
As some of you may know, I still go to school. Fun fun fun. So, during first period, I sat down and pulled out whatever book I was planning on reading that day. The popular girl who sits next to me arrived a little later and sat down in her spot. Everything was normal.
Then, something weird happened. This girl pulled out a book from her backpack, and she started to read it. This was weird, because I have never seen her even touch a book before. So, she starts to read it and I notice that she's already about halfway through. I'm amazed.
The teacher passed out the assignment from the day and goes back to his desk to play Minecraft.
Ten minutes later, the teacher looks up and has to ask the girl sitting next to me to put her book away.
SHE HAD TO BE FORCED TO STOP READING.
So, this post is a tribute to TFiOS for getting people who usually don't read to fall in love with books.

For the five of you who don't know, TFiOS is about a girl with cancer who goes to a support group for cancer. But the book is not about cancer. Basically, she meets a guy who also has cancer, but the book isn't really about love. It is one of those books that makes you cry from how sad and beautiful it is.

Instead of talking to you guys about the book, I'm going to do something a little different and create a beautiful collage of TFiOS stuff. Minor spoilers below. You might have to zoom in (which you can do by clicking on the picture. Don't you dare mess with the zoom under your computer settings and make life hard on yourself), because I wanted to make the blog symmetrical. Enjoy :)

Book Talks: The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

**To view spoilers, drag your mouse over the empty space between"<SPOILER>...<SPOILER>"
The Fault in Our Stars is a fiction book by John Green about this girl named Hazel who has cancer and falls in love with someone else who has cancer. It sounds like a simple, or maybe even cheesy book, but it's not. It's beautifully written, funny, it will make you laugh, smile, and choke up. I highly recommend it.

So, Augustus dies. Yeah, he had cancer, but I thought that he was okay. (No pun intended) I thought he was healthy. Then he dies. Perfect. I actually didn't cry, because his death was kind of slow, and I expected it. However, John Green did kind of shove in the knife and twist it around a little during the last ten pages. (John Green: "Oh? You like this character? Let me just murder him and show you how unfair life is.")
Peter Van Houten is officially one of the most annoying characters I have ever read. (Taking the top spots on that list are Professor Umbridge and nearly every character Lemony Snicket has ever written)
Did anyone else just burst into laughter during the part about the lonely. vaguely pedophilic swingset seeking the butts of children? Because I did.
Also, why are all of the characters so awesome? I find that sometimes authors only talk about the strengths and weaknesses of their characters, but John Green did a great job of giving them strange quirks. Like Hazel's "British" friend.
Can I just say that the writing was friggin' beautiful? It was beautiful. I devoured the book in two days. What about you? How did you like it? Comment below, and PLEASE avoid using spoilers.

All in all, an awesome book.
